The Personalized Approach to Investing
During your first meeting with Security Capital, you will meet with our portfolio managers and principals who will explore with you your financial goals and objectives. We will take as much time as you prefer to get to know you, your lifestyle, your lifetime goals and achievements, your retirement objectives and income needs. Then we carefully analyze the following essential factors to help us create a personal investment program for you:
- Financial needs
- Financial goals
- Time horizon
- Tolerance for risk
We make certain that your individual portfolio is a reflection of the personal preference you have for safety and growth, and your tolerance for risk. At SCM, we will always be a local presence who knows you and your investment objectives, and we will be there for face-to-face consultation when you need us.
At SCM, it's all personal . . .
Security Capital's personalized fact-finding process is conducted by seasoned professionals to determine objectively what is best for you. From this information we develop your portfolio following four basic steps:
1. Develop Your Investment Profile
2. Determine How to Allocate Your Assets
Your investment profile is then used to determine what percentage of your assets will be assigned to each investment class:
- Cash
- Equities (stocks)
- Fixed income (bonds and preferred stocks)
- Alternative investments (real estate, precious metals, etc.)
3. Diversify Among Asset Classes and Styles We then use your investment profile to further break down the assets allocated in step two as follows:
Investments in large (large capitalization) companies vs. smaller (medium capitalization) companies
Selection of income vs. growth securities or some combination
4. Reporting to You After your investment strategy is implemented, we regularly measure its progress in comparison with the goals and objectives established for you. Our monthly reports are prepared in an easy-to-read format, and we meet with you personally to review them at your convenience.
